1. Who we are
The data controller for VideoMemeGenerator (https://videomemegenerator.com) is LI KUN, at China; correspondence: support@videomemegenerator.com. Privacy and rights requests: support@videomemegenerator.com.
This policy covers website visits, accounts, uploads, AI generation, payments, support, reports, and appeals. Independently operated third-party websites follow their own privacy policies.
2. What we collect
Account records: email, display name, sign-in method, session data, and settings. Google sign-in does not give us your Google password.
When email/password sign-in is enabled, passwords are stored as hashes rather than plain text. Third-party sign-in may provide an account identifier, avatar, and authorization tokens. Account records may include language, registration source, and registration IP address.
Generation records: uploads, settings, task status, output files, and credit use. Do not upload unnecessary personal or sensitive content.
Billing records: plan, order status, and credit grants or consumption. Checkout providers collect payment details. We do not store full card numbers.
Technical records: IP address, request time, browser data, and error logs, used to operate, debug, and secure the service.
To prevent repeated welcome-credit claims, we retain a hash of the signup IP and its claim record. This anti-abuse record is not automatically erased when an account is deleted.
Support and report records: correspondence, content reports, appeals, task identifiers and necessary evidence for support, safety review and disputes.
Support and rights complaints may include contact details, content links, task IDs, evidence of rights, and handling records. Send only necessary information, without passwords, full card numbers, or unnecessary identity documents.
3. How we use it
We use this information to sign you in, run generations, keep your creations, process payments, send account email, answer support, prevent abuse, and meet legal duties.
Where applicable, account, generation, payment and support processing relies on contract performance; security, fraud prevention and moderation on legitimate interests; tax, regulatory compliance and lawful disclosure on legal obligations; optional marketing and tracking requiring consent on your consent. Consent can be withdrawn without affecting prior lawful processing.
5. Retention
Retention periods and backup deletion windows: Account records are kept while the account is active. Inputs, outputs and task records remain until removed under our deletion process; a fixed automatic media-expiry schedule is not currently enabled. After a verified account or file deletion request, data not required for legal obligations, unused balances, fraud prevention or unresolved disputes is deleted or anonymized within 30 days. Support and report records are kept for up to 30 days after the matter closes unless preservation is required. Routine platform logs and backup copies follow the configured provider retention and recovery windows; third-party copies follow their own policies. Minimal welcome-credit claim records remain to prevent repeat claims after account deletion. Data is deleted or anonymized when periods expire; legally required tax, dispute or security records are retained only as necessary. Download outputs you need to keep. Deletion requests: support@videomemegenerator.com. Canceling a subscription does not delete your account or immediately erase data.
Removing a creation from a gallery may not delete cloud files, provider copies, or backups. For file deletion or account closure, contact us from your account email with relevant task IDs or file links for verification and location. A retention period does not guarantee uninterrupted file availability.
Balance records needed to honor unused credits, statutory transaction records, and evidence for unresolved disputes may be kept for the necessary period, then deleted or anonymized. Independently retained third-party data and backups follow provider policies and applicable law.
6. Your rights
Depending on applicable law, you may request information, access, correction, deletion, restriction, portability, objection and withdrawal of consent. Email support@videomemegenerator.com from your account address and describe the request. We may verify identity and respond within the legally required timeframe; under GDPR this is normally one month, with reasons given for lawful extensions.
You may complain to your local data protection authority. We do not sell personal information or discriminate against you for exercising applicable privacy rights.

8. Cookies, analytics and marketing
Necessary cookies support sign-in, security and core functionality; functional cookies remember preferences such as language. Analytics or marketing tracking that requires consent is enabled only with that consent. Manage cookies in your browser; disabling necessary cookies may affect sign-in.
When enabled, analytics tools may process device, browser, approximate location, page views, and usage events. First-party conversion analytics may link acquisition source, registration, generation, and checkout events to a signed-in account. See the configured tools and data scope below. Analytics events should exclude passwords, full payment details, and uploaded content. Clearing browser cookies does not automatically erase server records.
Analytics tools and privacy policies: Cloudflare Web Analytics, when configured, measures aggregate page visits. Our own conversion records may associate acquisition, registration, generation and checkout events with an account. Marketing communications require applicable consent. Unsubscribe through email links or by contacting us. Essential billing, security and account messages are separate from marketing preferences.
9. Information used for reports and content review
To investigate reports, rights complaints, appeals, or suspected abuse, we may review relevant inputs, outputs, task records, necessary account details, and communications. Review is limited to investigation, enforcement, responses, and legal duties.
Necessary information may be shared with staff handling the matter, providers, or legally authorized authorities. We do not voluntarily disclose reporter contact details to the reported user without consent unless legally required, but cannot guarantee anonymity in every legal proceeding. Do not attach child sexual abuse material to reports.
10. Security and incident handling
We use transmission, credential and access protections appropriate to risk. No system can guarantee absolute security; protect your credentials.
Anyone holding a valid media link may be able to access the file. Avoid publicly sharing links to private content. Provider access controls and safeguards depend on the actual configuration and provider policies.
After a personal-data incident, we assess risk, contain and remediate it, and notify authorities and affected people as required by law. Where GDPR applies, reportable breaches normally require authority notification within 72 hours of awareness; individual notification follows applicable risk and legal requirements.
11. International transfers
Processing regions and safeguards: The operator is based in China. Cloudflare, the configured PostgreSQL host, Evolink, Google and Waffo may process information outside your country. Processing locations depend on the selected services and production configuration. International processing must use safeguards required by applicable law; contact support for the locations and safeguards relevant to your data. We do not represent that a particular transfer agreement has been signed unless it has been verified. International processing must meet applicable law, using valid transfer mechanisms and supplementary protections where necessary.
12. Children
The service is for users aged 18 or older and is not directed to younger children. Contact support@videomemegenerator.com about a child’s personal information; we will investigate and delete it or take protective measures as legally required.
Contact us also if someone submits a child’s photo or other information without authorization, so we can investigate, restrict relevant use, and address deletion as required by law.
13. Third parties and policy changes
Third-party sites and services follow their own privacy policies; review them before use.
We publish versions and effective dates here. Material changes normally receive at least 15 days’ notice through the website or registered email. Urgent legal or security changes may take effect sooner with prompt notice. New purposes requiring consent will be subject to separate consent.
